Belfry Roof Beam Repairs
Published: December, 2021
Thursday, 9th December 2021 marked the start of the church conservation project when the loose and rotten wood in the bell tower roof support beam was removed. The contractor, Sally Strachey Historic Conservation, took the attached photos and reported that, although there was some movement in the bolts, they are currently secure but will continue to be monitored every couple of years or so.
The project will continue on 17th January when SSHC will mobilise to start work on the chancel east gable, north transept and boundary wall repairs.
